Expecting mothers are full of questions, especially if it is their first child. We recently saw a questions posted by a mother online.
When I set up the appointment the lady said that the first American Fork OB/GYN Ultrasound appointment is just an orientation. And all the nurse will do is take tests. Does any of you know if that includes an ultrasound? I wanna get on done so I can see my baby. But idk if they are going to do one. If I ask for one will they do one? And how far along do you have to be to get pictures of the ultrasound?
This question comes from an online question and answer site. Dr. Saunders has contributed his time and expertise to answer the question as it applies at Dr. Saunders Obstetrics & Gynecology.
Many mothers probably have similar questions. First and foremost in the minds of many is when they will get to see their child for the first time.
“Get To Know Your Doctor” Appointment
Answer: Dear Proud Mommy
Typically at our office we do a complete physical exam and ask pertinent health questions. It is a “get to know your doctor” appointment as you should be able to comfortably ask whatever questions you would like to. If there is any uncertainty about your last menstrual period, then an ultrasound would be in order. You can see a gestational sac at 5 to 5 1/2 weeks and a heartbeat at 6 to 6 1/2 weeks. Don’t be afraid to speak up about your concerns! Good luck on your pregnancy.
